“SMILES, no matter how small, will have a lasting impact on our lives.”

That is what Fujifilm (M) Sdn Bhd managing director Kensuke Aragane believes.

“We can make society a better place by making people smile, that global purpose encompasses all aspects in Fujifilm,” he said at the launch of Fujifilm’s “Spreading Smiles Roadshow”.

It was an event to expand the company’s “borders” and held in conjunction with World Smile Day, which is celebrated on Oct 4.

The five-day roadshow at IOI City Mall in Putrajaya was part of Fujifilm’s global purpose of “Giving Our World More Smiles” that aimed to bring joy to people around the world through the group’s various sectors including electronics and imaging.

There was a variety of fun activities for visitors, such as a free Instax photo session where people could discover the new and fun features of Fujifilm’s Instax range.

A “Spread Smiles Corner” was where visitors could get a free Instax print and decorate it however they liked.

Brands participating in the event were Baskin-Robbins and Julie’s Biscuits, which set up booths to promote their new flavours available for a limited time – Ghost Pepper Chocolate ice-cream and Sweet Chilli Cheese Sandwich respectively.

Visitors also played mini games to win prizes.

“We have been collaborating with Fujifilm since 2023, and nothing beats the simple joy of a scoop of ice-cream,” said Baskin Robbins Malaysia chief executive officer Charmaine Cheah.

“Just like how Fujifilm captures moments that make us smile, our creations are crafted to ignite happiness in every bite, making this collaboration truly meaningful,” Julie’s Biscuits director Tzy Horng Sai said.

Visitors to the event also enjoyed music entertainment from KLP48, the newly debuted Malaysian-based sister group of Japanese idol group AKB48.

Its 13 international members are Amanda, Ann Drea, Cocoa, Devi, Haruka, Hillary, Khalies, Lucine, Salwa, Suzuha, Tiffany, Yurina and group captain Yi Shyan.

They performed songs of AKB48 such as Heavy Rotation, Shionichi and Aitakatta.

Fans of the group from all over the country turned up at the mall to support their favourite members with loud cheers.
