Artistes and young musicians pitch in for first benefit concert

Datuk M. Nasir, Datuk Sheila Majid, Aina Abdul, Misha Omar and Amir Jahari are set to perform with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) as it presents its first ever benefit concert in Kuala Lumpur on Nov 9.

This special “Resonance for Reason” event will be a momentous evening of music, philanthropy and nation- building.

The concert will also further MPO’s aims of being more than just an orchestra as it provides classical music accompaniment to beloved local artistes.

The evening’s repertoire is expected to welcome some first-time audiences as well as regular MPO patrons.

For over several years now, the MPO has also made a positive difference to the Malaysian music community via development programmes.

Through “Resonance for a Reason”, MPO is hoping to raise public awareness of its role in supporting local talents by providing continuous mentorship to the Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (MPYO).

Under the baton of Ahmad Muriz Che Rose, this concert will also feature MPYO talents.

The evening is set to be a showcase of artistic excellence with some of Malaysia’s best talents performing with orchestral accompaniment.

“Resonance for a Reason” will take place on Nov 9 at 8.30pm at the Dewan Filharmonik Petronas in Kuala Lumpur.

Tickets are priced at RM888, RM1,188, RM1,388, RM1,588, RM1,888 and RM2,588.
