children from a welfare home in Kuching, Sarawak, enjoyed a fun “Sports and Cheer” event thanks to the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN).

The programme at Rumah Kanak-Kanak Toh Puan Hajah Norkiah was organised in collaboration with the state Welfare Department.

During the event, LHDN handed over a contribution comprising school materials and daily necessities worth RM20,000.

The contribution, which included books, stationery and towels, would benefit 90 children in the home, LHDN said in a press release.

The revenue board staff also renovated an activity room at the home to create a more comfortable and conducive environment for the children.

Sarawak LHDN director Vijayen Nagalingham, who launched the event, hoped the corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme would have a positive impact on the children.

Also present were Welfare Department representative Mohd Ali Taib and the home’s principal, Mohamad Iskandar Mohammed Tudin.

The programme is part of LHDN’s efforts to reach out to the community, especially those in need.

It also aims to strengthen LHDN’s CSR efforts by creating a caring and harmonious society.
