MALAYSIANS are gearing up for festive seasons with Deepavali around the corner, closely followed by Christmas, New Year and Chinese New Year – all of which means shopping, decorating, eating and celebrating.

Stepping up to ensure that Malaysians can celebrate without putting a burden on household expenses is home improvement retailer MR DIY Group Bhd with their promise of offering a wide range of everyday essentials at “Always Low Prices”.

The retailer is rolling out two special initiatives to kickstart the celebrations – “Deepavali Selections” and a “MR DIY Brand Sale”.

The former features a selection of over 90 Deepavali essentials, including home decor, kitchenware, household linen and accessories.

The MR DIY Brand Sale features a 30% discount on over 30 of MR DIY’s home brand products.

Both promotions are ongoing until Oct 30 and will be followed by more festive-themed promotions.

Announcing the two initiatives, MR DIY Group marketing head Alex Goh said, “As a homegrown retailer, we see it as our responsibility to ensure that Malaysians can celebrate our most important festivals without feeling the burden of increased prices.

“At MR DIY, our promise of ‘Always Low Prices’ means our customers can enjoy great value every day, while also having access to festive specials like decorative items, kitchenware and others without bursting their budget.”

“Both the ‘MR DIY Brand Sale’ and ‘Deepavali Selections’ offer great deals on our extensive range of products, so that customers get the best value when they need it the most.”

The month-long initiatives feature great deals on the retailer’s home brand products nationwide, including those from household and furnishing, hardware, electrical and other product categories.

Home brand products on special offer include MR DIY antibacterial multi-surface cleaning wipes and MR DIY spray paint (black/white/lacquer).

Additionally, a variety of Deepavali products from LED lights, decorations, furnishing, accessories, gift bags and kitchenware are available.

The retailer also celebrated the success of its three-day “Bersama Satu Bazaar”.

Held at Piazza in Pavilion Bukit Jalil, the bazaar featured a unique Unity Gallery art exhibition, over 100 stalls showcasing some of Malaysia’s most talked-about food, drinks and goods as well as performances by various artistes.

The highlight was a special mini-concert featuring celebrities Alif Satar & The Locos, Jaclyn Victor and Priscilla Abby, who performed the patriotic anthem Bersama Satu Suara live for the first time.

Among the visitors who enjoyed the bustling atmosphere was Nor Afini Shohimi who said, “The bazaar offered a different environment. The best part was the food – there was so much of it! I hope MR DIY hosts more events like this in the future.”

Goh said: “We thank Malaysians for coming together to celebrate unity and fun in true Malaysian style at our first-ever Merdeka Bazaar.

“The presence of young Malaysian entrepreneurs with their exciting range of food, drinks and products, made it extra special.

“For many, it was their first chance to sample some of the food that had gone viral.”

He added that the performers brought real meaning to the lyrics and music of the song commissioned by MR DIY for the people of Malaysia.

In addition to local F&B vendors and products, the bazaar also featured a selection from MR DIY, MR TOY, EMTOP and MR DOLLAR – all part of the MR DIY Group.
