Festive lights on main roads

ROAD users travelling along Jalan Masjid Negeri, Penang, are greeted by vibrant decorative lights for the celebration of Deepavali, reports state publisher Buletin Mutiara.

Seri Delima assemblyman Connie Tan Hooi Peng said the initiative was a collaborative project with DS Asia Group, which spent RM40,000 on the festive decorations for that street and Jalan Yeap Chor Ee.

“I hope the beautifully illuminated streets will serve as a reminder of the significance of Deepavali, promote goodwill and harmony among all races,” she said, adding that the street had been adorned with festive decorations on every occasion.
