Travel, lifestyle, dining perks at a swipe

MAYBANK has introduced its first metal World Elite Mastercard which offers upgraded travel, lifestyle and dining privileges.

The card offers cardholders premium perks at hotels, restaurants and airports.

Maybank group chief executive officer (community financial services) Syed Ahmad Taufik Albar said the new facility redefined luxury and rewards.

“The launch of Maybank World Elite Mastercard is another strategic step towards expanding our customer base and increasing our revenue from cards by attracting discerning individuals.

“This card is designed for customers who demand the finest, by offering exclusive and varied travel, lifestyle and recreational experiences that are tailored to meet the customer’s distinct needs,” he said during the launch in Kuala Lumpur.

With him was cards head (community financial services) B. Ravintharan and Mastercard Malaysia and Brunei country manager Beena Pothen.

Perks for the cardholders include a complimentary night when booking a minimum one-night stay at Hotel Napoleon in Paris, France, or Radisson Blu Hotel at the United Kingdom’s Leicester Square in London.

Additionally, through the Mastercard Luxury Hotels & Resorts programme, cardholders benefit from complimentary room upgrades, early check-ins and late check-outs at over 3,800 hotels and resorts across the globe.

To ensure peace of mind for travellers, cardmembers are granted RM2mil in premium travel insurance or takaful coverage when booking flights with Maybank World Elite Mastercard.

For frequent travellers, the card provides complimentary access to 16 airport lounge visits annually, including Plaza Premium, Plaza Premium First and Travel Club lounges for a premium pre-flight experience.

Dining privileges include up to 40% off at Marriott Bonvoy establishments for up to 10 diners, and complimentary set lunches or special lunch sets for two at selected restaurants including Graze at Hilton Kuala Lumpur and Nobu Kuala Lumpur.

Members also have priority access to over 10,000 restaurants, including Michelin-starred venues and The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, through Mastercard’s Held Tables programme.

Moreover, for Maybank’s TreatPoints programme, cardholders stand to receive 10x TreatPoints for every RM5 spent in Malaysia, 25x TreatPoints for every RM5 spent overseas, and 1x TreatPoint for utilities, education, EzyPay and insurance transactions.

When it comes to shopping, cardholders will get to enjoy VIP shopping experiences with access to exclusive lounges, personal shopping assistants and special discounts at renowned shopping destinations like the UK’s Bicester Village and France’s La Vallee Village.

To celebrate the launch, Maybank is offering 37 luxury watches as prizes to eligible cardmembers who meet spending targets, with the campaign running until Jan 31, 2025.

Maybank World Elite Mastercardholders will also get to enjoy the “Buy one, Get one Business Class Ticket” offer where their companion’s ticket will be complimentary when they purchase a business ticket to London or Paris on Qatar Airways.

To be eligible for the offer, cardholders will need to meet a minimum spend of RM250,000 from Oct 8, 2024 to Oct 8, 2025.
