Hamidi’s Comrades in Charity (HCIC) gave out nearly RM17,000 in Deepavali cash aid to needy folk in two states.

Recipients included 54 families receiving RM200 each, and 15 students from two schools in Klang, Selangor, who received RM150 each.

The group also channelled funds to Seva Gurukulam Association, including RM800 to its branch in Rawang to hold a festive feast for children under its care.

Meanwhile, RM2,000 was allotted to its branch in Ampang on behalf of 10 families under its care, and RM1,000 to its branch in Nilai, Negri Sembilan, on behalf of five families.

HCIC in a media statement said Selangor assemblymen George Gunaraj (Sentosa) and Preakas Sampunathan (Kota Kemuning) attended the aid presentation and also donated to support the initiative.

HCIC was founded during the Covid-19 pandemic, when the group donated two chickens each to affected families.
