Selangor to introduce new guidelines to enhance business efficiency

KLANG: Selangor will soon introduce a new guideline to improve the efficiency of government departments and create a more business-friendly environment, says Selangor investment, trade and mobility committee chairman Ng Sze Han (pic).

He said the guideline, named "Selangor Speed," aims to cultivate a new working culture in Selangor to minimise bureaucracy and red tape.

“We want to ensure all applications and verifications are processed and approved faster to provide more convenience for the state’s business community,” he said during his speech at the 78th anniversary dinner of the Klang Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCCI) on Friday (Nov 1).

He also said the state government is committed to improving cybersecurity in Selangor as more high-tech enterprises are brought into the state to develop the semiconductor and artificial intelligence industries.

“Strong cybersecurity is essential to mitigate the ever-increasing security risks so that more high-tech companies are willing to invest in Selangor.

“One notable achievement in this field is the recent establishment of a cybersecurity centre of excellence by Blackberry in Cyberjaya to provide cybersecurity solutions.

“With better cybersecurity, we can become a globally trustworthy business partner with a safe environment,” he added.

Ng said that he will visit Suzhou, Jiangsu, China, together with Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari in early December to meet representatives from the Suzhou Industrial Park to learn from their experiences in developing the semiconductor industry.
