Lumi aspires to be a glowing beacon among cocktail bars in Ipoh, Perak.
The bar has a great view of what inspired its name – the Sultan Yussuf roundabout, a landmark folks fondly call “The Luminous Cup”.
A neon cocktail sign also marks the entrance.
Its cocktail menu is centred on ’80s disco-era drinks that are updated with cheeky names.
Signature drinks include the spirit-forward Rojak Feeling, which is a sesame-washed rum, jackfruit-infused whiskey, sweet vermouth and Campari.
Beet The Nibs is a mix of cacao nib-infused whiskey, beetroot-spiced honey syrup, lemon juice, smoked whiskey and port wine.
Expect old school funk, acid jazz or French house music to accompany the night.THE DECK

The bar’s newly concocted signature cocktails are interesting.
The Polaris cocktail is a fusion of Plantation Rum infused with pink peppercorn and orange zest, harmonised with Giffard Elderflower Syrup and elevated with aromatic bitters.
It comes with dehydrated orange slices, edible flower and a dusting of pink peppercorn for a touch of sophistication.
Meanwhile, the Jack Of All Fruits cocktail has jackfruit-infused Tanqueray, housemade Falernum syrup and pandan.
Paying tribute to Ipoh’s famous coffee, the Kopi-O Tonic is an espresso tonic with a fizzy, refreshing twist on iced coffee.
