AN automated parking system (ACPS) developed by South Korean firm Samjung Tech will be installed at Milla Residence, Quartz Wangsa Maju in Kuala Lumpur.

This system, featuring 2,358 parking bays and 21 car lifts, is set to become one of the largest ACPS installations in Asean.

It will be installed through a partnership between developer Beverly Group and Parktech Solutions.

A signing ceremony was held at Milla Residence Sales Gallery involving Beverly Group chief executive officer Derick Lim, Samjung Tech Co Ltd president and chief executive officer Choi Jong Wan, and Parktech Solutions Sdn Bhd managing director Yow Kai Yong.

The event was witnessed by Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad who is also Setiawanga MP, and Maybank commercial banking managing director Jason Wong.

Nik Nazmi said, “This collaboration between Beverly Group and Samjung Tech is a meaningful step toward Malaysia’s sustainability goals.

“Initiatives like these set an example of how technology can contribute to a greener living environment.”

The system streamlines parking operations and reduces carbon emissions, said a statement by Beverly Group.

The technology allows motorists to leave their vehicles at designated entry points, with the automated system fully handling vehicle storage and retrieval.

This removes the need to navigate complex parking structures and creates a safer environment by minimising human interaction within the parking area.

By cutting time and fuel spent on traditional parking searches, the system offers a green solution, minimising idling emissions by up to 30%, the statement said.

Land usage is reduced through its vertical design.

“Our collaboration with Samjung Tech goes to show how advanced technology can support greener living – enhancing convenience while actively contributing to our environmental goals,” Lim said.

He added that Milla Residence supported the EkoSetiawangsa initiative which aimed to transform the township into an “urban eco-district”.

“Through ACPS and other sustainable features, Beverly Group is committed to eco-friendly urban development by reducing the carbon footprint of traditional parking solutions,” he added.

Choi said, “Our system for Milla Residence is customised to balance modernity with reliability.

“We are doubling test runs to ensure faultless initial operations, with our engineers on-site to fine-tune performance.

“Above all, our customer satisfaction team in Malaysia will be there monthly to conduct proactive inspections and keep everything running seamlessly.”

Milla Residence is a serviced apartment coming up in the 6.68ha Quartz Wangsa Maju enclave.

Offering units ranging from 657sq ft to 1,249sq ft with two to five bedrooms, it caters to a wide demographic covering young professionals to multi-generational families.

It is equipped with modern security features such as automatic number-plate recognition system and innovative cleaning robots.
