A significant milestone has been reached in the implementation of the Perak Sejahtera 2030 Plan, with about 17% of projects now completed.

Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said 47 out of 273 projects had been completed since the plan was implemented two years ago.

He said out of the total number of projects, 174 were being implemented while 52 were in the planning stages.

Saarani said the projects, listed in the Perak Sejahtera 2030 Dashboard, were being monitored by the Performance Management and Delivery Unit (Pemandu) committee.

“Based on the dashboard, 10 projects have been registered,” he said when replying to Datuk Shahrul Zaman Yahya (BN-Rungkup) during the question-and-answer session at Perak State Assembly sitting in Bangunan Perak Ridzuan, Ipoh.

The State Economic Planning Unit would carry out a mid-year review of the Perak Sejahtera 2030 Plan to assess the need for adjustments, Saarani said.

He said the state would study the plan’s framework, implementation and key performance indicators (KPIs) for each agenda, including district specialisations and flagship projects.

“This is to strengthen sustainability, ensure a prosperous society and position Perak as a progressive and competitive state,” he added.

On developing the Bagan Datuk district, Saarani said 11 programmes and projects had been charted out under the plan.

“These include the Beting Beras Basah Heritage Tourism and Conservation project, Bagan Datuk International Gateway, Bagan Datuk Permanent Food Production Park for aquaculture, Bagan Datuk International Fishery Industrial Park and the Small and Medium Food Industry site at Bagan Datuk Waterfront Square.”

Other projects, he added, included Medan Ikan Bakar Bagan Datuk, a feasibility study on external infrastructure for a heavy industrial park, Matag coconut plantation programme and Simpang 4 Rungkup Small Town initiative.

In response to a supplementary question from Shahrul Zaman, Saarani said the plan aligned with the Federal Government’s policies in ensuring synergy between the two levels of government.
