THIS festive season, the sweetest place in all of Kedah to spend a joyous time with family will be Aman Central.

The mall in Alor Setar has created a spectacular backdrop and many exciting events under its Sugar Rush Christmas programme running until Dec 29.

It includes the lively Sugar Rush Musical that shoppers of all ages can enjoy.

Shows will start at 3pm on Dec 21, 24 and 25, so mark your calendars.

There will also be snowfall at 6pm on those days, as well as Dec 27.

Aman Central assistant general manager Ken Chin said Santa Claus and friends will make an appearance an hour before each snowfall session and pose for photos with shoppers.

“Falling snow has a magical quality. We wanted to bring that spectacle to Malaysians and ensure the year-end is extra special for everyone,” he said.

All these activities at the Central Atrium will help transform the place into a whimsical and sugary land befitting Willy Wonka.

The centrepiece is a huge Christmas tree decked out with candy ribbons, towering out of an oversized cupcake with a walk-through mirror tunnel.

Around it are bright pink trees, oversized lollipops, hanging doughnuts, candy canes, twinkling lights and more.

There will be no sweeter backdrop for photo-taking than this.

“Christmas is a time of getting together, sharing and celebration.

“We want shoppers to feel its sweet wonders from the moment they walk through our doors.

“We hope the confectionery decorations and sweet festivities will bring joy, wonder and a sense of community to all who visit,” Chin said.

Kedah human resources, Chinese, Indian and Siamese affairs and non-governmental organisations committee chairman Wong Chia Zhen echoed those sentiments.

“Celebrations like these remind us of the values that define our shared human experience.

“It’s all about love, kindness, generosity and hope.

“Christmas is a time when we come together to reflect on the year gone by and renew our commitment to the ideals that make us stronger and more united.

“In a world that can sometimes feel divided, let us be reminded that we are all connected by our humanity,” Wong added while launching the Sugar Rush Christmas programme.

Wong and Chin were joined by Aman Central’s operations manager Gan Poh Hin and HR and admin manager Peng Hooi Chin, Aman Bowl senior manager Shahardi Mohd Hamzah as well as Santa Claus and snowman mascots in the launch.

Chin reminded shoppers to join the Sugar Rush TikTok Contest by recording and uploading a short video of themselves with the mall’s festive decorations.

Ten pairs of Swarovski earrings worth RM3,000 are up for grabs.

There are also several other redemptions and workshops lined up.

He said the mall is gearing up for its 10th anniversary in 2025 by welcoming a host of new tenants and brands.

The latest to have opened are Richeese Factory, Damas King, Montigo, BingXue, Goodnite Signature, Converse, 3Cats, The Film, LG Puricare, Happy Potato, Cotti Coffee, Being Juice, Dutch Perfume and Energise.

Still to come are Hai Di Lao, Beautea, Aldo, KPix, Mix Store, Hello Bite, Jannah Noe, Sparq Coffee, Elixir De Luxe and Footlocker, he said.

“We are constantly enhancing our tenant mix to bring improved retail offerings to Kedahans,” Chin added.
