TOP Chinese-language radio station 988 kicked off its Chinese New Year campaign with a promise to spread joy.
This year’s theme is “YouYouYou” (Have a good year).
Star RFM Sdn Bhd senior general manager Woo Bee Ay said the radio station was excited about welcoming the Year of the Snake with lots of creativity.
“One of the key highlights is our annual festive album.
“It will feature three songs and music videos.
“The music video for the main track, YouYouYou will showcase 20 of 988’s radio deejays dressed in retro clothing as they take on the challenge of coming together for a Chinese New Year reunion dinner.
“The music video is available online and promises to be a visual delight,” she said at the Chinese New Year campaign launch at Ark Fiesta Event Space in Millerz Square, Kuala Lumpur.
The album was launched by Star Media Group group chief executive officer Chan Seng Fatt.
Woo also said a 988 gift pack would be available at a special price for a limited time.
“The pack, priced at RM108, includes a stylish sling bag, pendrive pre-loaded with festive songs, angpow packets, 2025 desktop calendar, festive stickers, Q-Zai plush toy and condiments.
Early birds can purchase it for just RM88.
The gift pack can be bought via the 988 Shop Now platform or at roadshows between Dec 29 and Jan 19.
“We have planned about 30 meet-and-greet events in partnership with top brands.”
Woo said visitors can get into the festive spirit with vibrant decorations and live performances by deejays from Jan 9 to 12 at Menara Star 2 @ Pacific Towers, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
“There will be special radio programmes featuring interactive games and festive hits, zodiac forecasting with insights for the year and a heartwarming drama series with family tales, among others.”
988 is also the official media partner for OMG! Mom’s Big News, a movie starring Chan Fong, Tong Bing Yu, Juztin Lan, and Miko Wong, with a special appearance by Anita Yuen, that will hit cinemas on Jan 29.
