SEPANG Municipal Council (MPSepang) estimates that the assessment tax hike that will take effect on Jan 1 will generate around RM41mil extra in revenue.
MPSepang deputy president Muhamad Shah Osmin said it expected RM191.9mil in total collection next year, compared to RM150.9mil this year.
This follows the announcement by Selangor local government committee chairman Datuk Ng Suee Lim on Dec 9 that approval had been given for the new rates for all 12 local councils, with the tax hike capped at 25%
Shah said MPSepang would continue infrastructural improvements to public facilities such as roads, street lights, drains, and parks.
“Ten projects that will benefit the people, costing some RM50mil in total, have either started or will kick off next year.
“Two big projects which kicked off last month are a community complex at Kampung Datuk Abu Bakar Baginda in Sungai Merab and the construction of a bus terminal at Persiaran Multimedia in Cyberjaya.
“Next month, more projects will kick off, including the development of a public park in Taman Cempaka in Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi and upgrading the football field in Taman Putra Perdana, Puchong,” he said.
