Fast-food chain, aid groups feed flood-affected folk

KFC’s Add Hope Malaysia has contributed RM100,000 to meal distribution initiatives.

TO support communities affected by floods, a fast-food chain has started distributing meals through its philanthropic arm Add Hope Malaysia.

Those displaced by floods have been provided food thanks to KFC Malaysia contributing RM100,000 worth of meals.

“The mission is to support those in crisis, no matter the circumstance.

“Our contribution to National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) is focused on delivering KFC meals to temporary evacuation centres in the hardest-hit regions, particularly in Kelantan, Terengganu, Kedah and Johor,” said QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd chief executive officer and managing director Nehchal Khanna.

By mobilising resources and coordinating efforts with Nadma and Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC), the company has been able to ensure flood-affected folk receive the nourishment they need.

More than 6,000 KFC meals were delivered to evacuees at the flood relief centres and homes.

Nadma plays a crucial role in coordinating disaster response efforts across Malaysia, ensuring that resources are efficiently allocated and affected communities receive timely assistance.

MRC supports these efforts by providing on-the-ground aid, including medical services, emergency shelter and essential supplies to those in need.

A mock cheque was presented by QSR Brands chief communications officer Anis Yusof to Nadma Disaster Relief Management deputy director-general Hussain Moh along with MRC deputy secretary-general Datuk Danial Iskandar Abdul Rahman.

“Our contribution of RM100,000 in meal aid is a step towards alleviating the hardships faced by flood victims.

“We vow to continue to assist those impacted by natural disasters throughout Malaysia, reinforcing our commitment to help rebuild lives and provide hope in times of adversity,” said Anis.
