SOME 50 children from Johor Calvary Welfare Centre (PKK) had a fun-filled Christmas outing in Johor Baru.

The children, aged three to 17, also received festive gifts and enjoyed a Christmas concert during their visit to Real Schools Johor Baru campus.

School principal Dr V. Chandra said more than 100 shoe boxes filled with goodies were prepared by the school’s students for their guests.

“We want the children from PKK to know that they are loved.

“This is also a good opportunity for our students to give back to the community.

“We decided to set up a corporate social responsibility student committee to carry out charitable initiatives for the public. The Christmas celebration is one of these projects,” said Chandra.

Others included visits to an aged care home and animal shelter, as well as a beach cleanup.

Enoch Goh, who led the visit by PKK, said the children were always excited to go for an outing.

“The visit and gifts have brought happiness to them,” he said.

The welfare centre also received a cheque worth RM2,000 from the school.
