A FESTIVE mix of over 20 activities and attractions during the Elmina Lakeside Festival made for a unique holiday experience for residents of Shah Alam and visitors from all over Klang Valley.
Held at Elmina Lakeside Mall (ELM) and Urban Park in Elmina, Shah Alam, the inaugural festival was organised by township developer Sime Darby Property Berhad (SDP).
The family-friendly event drew more than 100,000 visitors over two days.
Festival-goers were treated to a lakeside concert featuring performers such as Datuk Awie, Ella, Dolla and Joey Leong, alongside a dazzling grand fireworks display.
A 135m-long flying Santa sleigh was showcased, earning an official place in the Malaysia Book of Records for the longest Santa sleigh rope slide in the country.
A giant Christmas tree that was also a toy factory stood as the centrepiece of the event space.
Adding to the festive charm were the European-themed Christmas markets with 20 artisanal pop-up booths.
Visitors also enjoyed the Fun Zone with activities such as hot air balloon rides, ice-skating, carnival games, family boating and train rides, as well as exploration of the inflatable castle and the whimsical Teddy Bear Village.
Adding to the enchantment was the Lumi Light Garden that featured gigantic LED light sculptures and a mesmerising Northern Lights display.
These created an immersive visual spectacle and picture- perfect moments for visitors.
SDP township development chief operating officer Appollo Leong said, “The Elmina Lakeside Festival truly evoked a sense of belonging by uniting communities in a joyous celebration of the holiday season.
“The overwhelming turnout reflected our vision of creating vibrant spaces where families and friends can come together.
“We are delighted to have welcomed the public to our Elmina Lakeside Mall and Elmina Urban Park, which were meticulously designed to provide an avenue for wholesome, family-oriented activities.

ELM, which opened its doors in August, achieved a 99% occupancy rate and offers a blend of trendy and unique experiences, ranging from retail to health and wellness and edutainment.
SDP is preparing to unveil its first large-scale sculpture in the township.
This will be part of Malaysia’s first outdoor sculpture museum spanning across the Urban Park and upcoming Arts and Cultural Park.
Elmina City Centre visitors can experience Kanopi Residences, the first phase of serviced apartments in this thriving township.
It offers over 35 facilities and easy access to parks, schools and the mall, with prices starting from RM270,000.
