Foundation doubles donations to aid 400 community members


Tropicana Foundation raised more than RM220,000 in funds to help the underprivileged community.

AFTER two months of fund- raising, Tropicana Foundation collected more than RM220,000 to help the underprivileged.

The initiatives involved raising funds and buying dry goods for the needy for the festive period, extending to 11 homes that are home to 400 community members across Klang Valley.

The finale was held at Tropicana Golf & Country Resort where 120 guests including children, people with disabilities and senior citizens were treated to good food, entertainment and donation giveaways.

Tropicana Foundation has been running this fundraising campaign for the last five years, instilling and encouraging the art of caring.

Tropicana senior general manager Serena Lim expressed her joy and appreciation at the efforts of her team.

“It has been a pleasure leading and working alongside the Tropicana Foundation committee and volunteers.

“Their sheer determination and hard work have paid off as we raised more than double the amount compared to last year.

“The donations received are valued at more than RM220,000 worth of perishable and non-perishable items and resources from cash, outdoor media banners, food and beverage and event space sponsorship from Tropicana Golf & Country Resort.

“I would like to thank all our sponsors and business partners as well as the employees of Tropicana for their valuable support and generous donations.”

The participating homes and recipients of the donations were Guardian Angels Home, Sweet Care Home, Trinity Community Children Home Society, Sai Pandian Anbu Illam orphanage, Pertubuhan Kebajikan dan Bimbingan At-Taqwa, Rumah Kasih Charity Home, Rumah Safiyyah, Rumah Sejahtera Bentong (Pahang), Praise Emmanual Children’s Home, Pusat Pemulihan Dalam Komuniti (PPDK) Sofea Damansara Damai and Kechara Soup Kitchen.

The guests were treated to fun activities and entertainment such as a Santa show, Santa Claus Christmas spirit mingling session, candy giveaway by Santa Claus and Santarina, and fun and magical games with Santa’s elves.

Tropicana Foundation will soon start its Chinese New Year charity drive.
