Selangor targets RM11.7bil tourism revenue in 2025

Selangor aims to generate RM11.7bil worth of transactions during its Visit Selangor Year 2025 campaign, says state local government and tourism committee chairman Datuk Ng Suee Lim.

He is confident this target can be met due to meticulous planning of activities, programmes and enhanced tourism infrastructure, which is expected to attract eight million visitors.

“For tourism-related infrastructure projects, we have ensured their implementation since last year.

“I see that local authorities and industry players are prepared to accommodate the anticipated influx of tourists to the state,” Ng said in a Bernama report.

“With the cooperation of all quarters, including state assemblymen, MPs, local authorities and tourism agencies, I am confident we can promote the campaign effectively and achieve or even exceed our target.”

The Sekinchan assemblyman was speaking after attending ISP Group’s corporate social responsibility initiative.

On the programme, Ng noted that it marked the second phase of ISP Group’s initiative which would continue until 2026.

The December edition saw the distribution of food packages to 30 underprivileged families in Sekinchan.

The programme aims to support a total of 120 families through monthly grocery vouchers worth RM300 over four phases, with a total contribution of RM216,000.
