A VIBRANT showcase of sportsmanship and talent brought together students from seven schools across Port Dickson, Negri Sembilan, in an athletic carnival.

Organised by Tune Protect Group Bhd and SK Kampung Baru Si Rusa, the Kids Athletic Carnival celebrated teamwork, resilience and holistic development among young athletes.

It was also part of Tune Protect’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitment to empower communities and promote growth through sports.

Selected by Port Dickson District Education Office for its impressive track record in national and state-level championships, the school was the ideal venue for the event.

Since October 2023, Tune Protect has enhanced the school’s facilities and resources.

The group donated laptops, personal computers and sports equipment such as a pit for the long jump.

The school’s digital resource centre was refurbished via repainting, tiling and vibrant murals.

Community clean-ups were organised, improvements were made to the school field and various student activities were carried out.

Through these initiatives, the school is now better equipped for its pupils to excel in national and state-level championships as well as host inspiring events like the carnival.

“We are proud to stand alongside SK Kampung Baru Si Rusa on its remarkable journey of sports excellence,” said Tune Protect chief strategy officer and sustainability committee chairman Koot Chiew Ling.

“From equipping the school with resources and enhancing sports facilities to facilitating educational visits, our commitment has been about enabling its potential.

“The carnival marks the culmination of a year-long partnership,” she added.

“We are delighted that this carnival’s impact reached students across six other schools in Port Dickson as well.

“By nurturing discipline, resilience and teamwork, we hope to inspire a new generation of young athletes to achieve sporting excellence as well as contribute meaningfully to society,” said Koon, who also presented medals at the event.

The carnival had a diverse lineup of activities tailored to young athletes, including sprint races, hurdle relays, javelin and endurance run.

These activities encouraged pupils to explore their potential and aptitude.

Cheers of encouragement from fellow students, teachers, parents and volunteers created a vibrant atmosphere.

The carnival was aimed at inspiring healthy competition while promoting values such as perseverance.

It also allowed students to form connections, build confidence and participate in a community-driven initiative.
