PETALING JAYA: The dispute between a joint management body (JMB) of a condominium and a security firm over the latter’s failure to vacate the premises may be resolved soon.
Armanee Terrace Condominium’s JMB chairman Parveen Sindhu said it would settle any outstanding payments to the firm, provided the latter gives an undertaking to remove its guards from the premises.

Ramli Security Sdn Bhd, which had its contract terminated by the JMB, had claimed that it was owed RM300,000 in back payments.
Parveen said that following news reports Monday (Jan 6), the security firm immediately sent an invoice for the two months owed.
“We did not pay for November and December as the invoices were not sent to us.
“The invoices we received yesterday (Jan 6) for about RM300,000 had been backdated. We have issued them a letter acknowledging it and asking them to rectify the dates.
“Our letter also states that the invoices will be promptly paid, provided they remove all personnel and vacate the premises within 24 hours, with a proper handover to our office.
“They have yet to respond to our letter,” she said when contacted.
The dispute arose when the Armanee Terrace Condominium JMB alleged that the security firm refused to vacate the premises even after its services had been terminated.
The firm has continued to station its guards at the location despite the JMB hiring another company to take over security duties.
This prompted the JMB committee members to lodge a police report at the Damansara police station on Jan 6.
Yesterday, an online portal quoted Ramli Security Sdn Bhd director Datuk Seri Ramli Yusuff, stating that the JMB’s termination of the contract with only 24 hours’ notice was unlawful based on the signed agreement.
He explained that the terms of the monthly contract extension required two months’ notice for termination, but the JMB had only given 24 hours.
He also claimed that the JMB had failed to pay an outstanding amount of RM300,000.
Ramli Security was unavailable for comment at the time of reporting.
