Marking its seventh year, Sarawak Tourism Board’s (STB) ang pow celebrates the state’s vibrant cultural and natural heritage.
In a statement, the board said visitors could collect these exclusive red packets from visitors’ information centres in Kuching, Miri and Sibu while supplies last.
Inspired by the Year of the Wood Snake, this year’s design features elegant gold stamping and the Bornean Palm Pit Viper, a symbol of resilience, growth and Sarawak’s biodiversity.
This initiative underscores STB’s commitment to promoting greater appreciation of Sarawak’s unique ecosystems through responsible tourism.
“This year’s ang pow highlights Sarawak’s vital ecosystems, encouraging greater conservation awareness,” said STB chief executive officer Sharzede Datu Salleh Askor.
She said that through meaningful initiatives like this, they aimed to inspire residents and visitors to discover and protect Sarawak’s natural heritage.
The campaign emphasises Sarawak’s position as a premier eco-tourism destination.
“Join us in celebrating the Year of the Wood Snake with an ang pow that symbolises strength, growth and care for the environment,” Sharzede said.
“STB invites everyone to join the festivities and celebrate this unique tribute to Sarawak’s natural beauty and sustainability efforts.” — By ANDY CHUA
