No more Sunday rubbish collection in Johor

Rubbish collection in Johor previously scheduled on Sundays will be moved to Saturdays, says SWM Environment.

FOLLOWING the change in Johor’s weekend in 2025, there will also be a change in rubbish collection in the state.

SWM Environment Sdn Bhd corporate general manager Mohd Norlisam Mohd Nordin said this affected waste management operations that were usually scheduled on Sundays.

“Since the state’s official rest days have been changed to Saturday and Sunday, we will also be making a change to our waste collection schedule.

“Works that are typically carried out on Sundays will be moved to Saturdays,” he said in a media statement.

He assured that the waste management concessionaire’s other operations would not be affected.

He added that the decision was made after careful consideration, to avoid affecting waste management at the 15 local authorities in which SWM Environment operates.

Mohd Norlisam said the public could also get in touch with the company through their other communication channels such as WhatsApp at 012-618 0082 and hotline at 1-800-88-7472.

In October, Johor Regent Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim decreed that the state would revert its weekend to Saturday and Sunday from the previous Friday and Saturday starting this year.
