AS the Year of the Snake approaches, MagnumCares, the CSR arm of the Magnum Group, celebrates an extraordinary 41-year journey of giving back through its “Welfare Homes Outreach” programme.
This tradition continues to light up the lives of senior citizens, the disabled and orphans in more than 215 welfare homes nationwide.
With contributions amounting to about RM750,000 in donations, festive goodies, essential home groceries and ang pow, this initiative spreads joy and hope to over 15,000 lives, making the upcoming Chinese New Year a truly memorable celebration.
In Selangor, this year’s MagnumCares Welfare Homes Outreach programme touched the hearts of residents in 52 welfare homes and uplifted the lives of over 7,700 individuals, with contributions totalling RM157,000.
Building on this initiative, the “Home Enhancement Programme” (HEP), a cornerstone of MagnumCares’ corporate social responsibility efforts, has been woven into the festive “Welfare Homes Outreach” programme.
Guided by the motto of “new year, new start,” this long-standing initiative goes beyond donations to rejuvenate and improve welfare homes nationwide.
Magnum said that across all states where it was operating, HEP enhanced living conditions and well-being through 3R activities: repairing, refurnishing and replacing.
From installing eco-friendly LED lights to upgrading furniture and appliances as well as refurbishing therapy and play areas for special needs children, the programme ensures a sustainable and heartfelt impact for its beneficiaries, said the company.
“As we mark 41 years of our Welfare Homes Outreach programme, we are proud to continue spreading hope and joy to the communities we serve,” said Magnum executive vice-president- and group chief commercial officer Datuk Chan Chee Fai.
“The Year of the Snake reminds us of resilience and renewal, and this festive season is the perfect time to celebrate new beginnings together.
“Through our efforts, we aim to bring brighter tomorrows to those in need, living up to our slogan ‘For You, With You’,” Chan added.
Also present were Magnum vice-president corporate communications and customer insight Goh Sim Giin and the home’s trustee exco chairman Datuk Seri Yong Seng Yeow.
