JACK Loi Ren Jie overcame wet conditions and a full field to win the gross title in the qualifying round of the Prudential Astro Masters at the Els Club Datai in Langkawi.
Loi started off rather slow and carded a six-over 42 on the front nine of the course redesigned by South African legend Ernie Els. Loi, however, bounced back very nicely on the inward nine to post a one-under 35 for a total of 77, winning by a single stroke from Mohd Jon Ali.
