State polls: Incumbent Ampangan assemblyman expected to contest as independent


SEREMBAN: Incumbent Ampangan assemblyman Datuk Mohamad Rafie Abdul Malek from PKR is expected to contest as an independent in the Negri Sembilan state polls.

The former state investment, industrialisation, education and entrepreneurship committee chairman is expected to file his nomination papers to defend the seat he first won in 2018 at the Ampangan youth and sports complex AT around 9am.

In the 2018 polls, Mohamad Rafie won the seat with a majority of 1,360 votes against Barisan Nasional's Datuk Abu Ubaidah Redza.
