A NEW RM5mil Gandhi Memorial hall, believed to be the only one of its kind in South East Asia, will be built at Jalan Sekerat in Sungai Petani, Kedah, in recognition of the Indian leader who preached non-violence.
Building committee chairman Sham S. Ratnani said the three-storey building would replace an existing smaller memorial hall of the same name which was built in 1955.
