KUCHING: Sarawak Forestry Corporation has received news from Anap Sustainable Development Unit (Asdu) (one of the state’s forest management units) on the sighting of the elusive baycat (catopuma badia) in a timber concession area in central Sarawak.
The baycat is considered to be the least known cat species in the world and was sighted and videoed by camera traps at two locations in Asdu by a research student from Sarawak at Kyoto University as part of a comprehensive research programme involving the university and other Japanese institutions.
