MIRI: There are success stories of low-cost micro hydro-electric dams - built at a cost of less than RM10,000 each using minimal amount of manual labour - generating enough electricity to power a farm or a small village.
The Miri Division Orang Ulu National Association (OUNA) chairman Peter Kallang, stumbled across such a case recently when he visited a farmhouse in Bekenu sub-district some 60kms south of here along the Miri-Bintulu highway.
