Tourist: Safety of Penang water sports below international standards


GEORGE TOWN: There is still a long way to go before the safety level of water sports activities in Penang is on par with international standards, according to a concerned Australian tourist.

Ian Duffy, who claims to have 25 years of experience as a safety officer for parasailing, paragliding and hand gliding sports in Australia, alleged that some of the equipment used in the water sports activities in Batu Ferringhi were worn out and had exceeded their life span.
