SINCE September 1998, the St John Ambulance Malaysia Wilayah Persekutuan (SJAM WP) has been operating a 24-hour Emergency Medical Assistance Service (Emas), handling 1,500 emergency and transfer cases each year.
Handling about 100 emergency cases each month, the non-profit organisation relies on donations and contributions for the first-aid duties, first-aid classes and earns some fees from patient transportation services.
