ALTHOUGH fully aware that she has been abandoned by her family, Fizah (not her real name) remains hopeful that one day, they will visit her at Rumah Ehsan Kuala Kubu Bharu (REKKB), a home for the destitute.
“My children cannot afford to look after me. A mother can fend and care for all her children but that does not happen when the roles are reversed,” she said at the home, where she has been a resident for five years.
