Efforts needed to preserve Pekan Sungai Besi's rich history

Happy man: Traditional snack seller Ahmad Abdullah, 63, loves the lifestyle he has living and making a living in Pekan Sungai Besi. Rohaizat/Star/

PEKAN Sungai Besi is a surprise find in Kuala Lumpur. This little township seems to have escaped 21st century development and has remained quite untouched.

It is quite a treasure trove of history, but the risk of losing all this is now high if nothing is done to preserve the buildings exposed to the sun and rain.
