CLOSE friends of the late Sultan of Perak Sultan Azlan Shah said the ruler used to cycle around with them in his childhood hometown of Batu Gajah and was active in sports.
They all studied together at the Government English School (now known as SM Sultan Yussuf) in Batu Gajah.
