Teaching vs managing

THE recent reports in The Star regarding the planned review of teachers’ clerical and managerial-related workload must have been met with a sigh of relief by Malaysian teachers. The act of trying to balance clerical and teaching tasks is an eternal struggle for teachers. Teaching is an extremely stimulating and fun activity.

However, tasks like collecting school fees and compiling unnecessary reports are a bane. It is high time the Government looks into this matter and assist teachers, for surely not all the moans and groans we hear from them are due to their so-called laziness or negative attitude.
