THE recent success of Sunway TES students proves that nothing is out of reach and that being “top in the world” is possible.
Queenie Chan Xin Yi, whose favourite subject is Tax Compliance won Joint First Place and the Knox prize for ICAEW Professional Level Tax Compliance (98%), placing herself in the top position worldwide.
“I hope to join a reputable international company upon graduation, and in time to come, I would want to be in a position where I can make a meaningful contribution back to society,” said Chan, who is also a recipient of the Global Accountant Scholarship.

Meanwhile, Ng Jia Hui, Goh Zi Yuan and Jonathan Oh Keat Huong emerged as top scholars surpassing all other ACCA students who sat for the December 2021 exam by securing top placing worldwide and achieving world prizes to boot.
Not her first triumph, Ng has previously secured world prize accolades three times in Management Information and Foundation in Audit in 2019, Audit and Assurance in June 2011, in addition to the Malaysian prize for Financial Reporting in March 2021.
This time, she bagged the ACCA World Prize for Strategic Business Reporting.
“Nothing is impossible for a determined person. It will not be an easy path, but at the end of the day, our success is directly proportional to the hard work we put in.
“All the sweat and hard work that we put in will be worth it since it helps us grow into a more responsible person, and it helps us to be equipped with the knowledge we need when we step into the working field,” said Ng.
Ng, a recipient of the prestigious Sunway TES ACCA Global Leaders Bursary (ACCA level), chose Sunway TES to pursue her education as it is well-known for producing high calibre graduates.
“The lecturers in Sunway TES are very dedicated, knowledgeable and friendly, I would say without them, it is impossible to achieve the result I have today”, she added.
On the other hand, a surprised Goh secured her position as an ACCA World Prize Winner for Audit and Assurance.
“(I) definitely did not expect it. Having received the award, it has motivated me to always strive for the best,” said the recipient of the Sunway-ACCA Global Leader scholarship.
“I wish to work with one of the leading accountancy firms where I can apply what I have learned and hone my technical skills.
“Yes, I would recommend Sunway to those interested to study ACCA,” said Goh who chose Sunway TES because it is a reputable college in providing this programme and found that the lecturers are experienced and passionate, who are also very patient in providing guidance.
Oh, who is also The Sunway ACCA Global Leader Scholarship recipient, secured the ACCA FIA World Prize for Maintaining Financial Records.
Proud of his achievement, he is grateful to Sunway College for helping him succeed and his lecturer for being so helpful and guiding him through his journey.
“My lecturers are really helpful and friendly. They are very dedicated and gave us the best education Sunway could offer. My lecturers always take the time to answer our questions even outside of class hours,” he said.

In addition, Yayasan Peneraju Pendidikan Bumiputera recipient Ainul Mardhiah binti Mohd Saad won the ACCA FIA Malaysia Prize for her excellent results in Managing Costs and Finance – securing second place worldwide.
“ACCA FIA programme is the fastest track for me to pursue accounting, I chose it to have a head start for my future business career. And I have no doubt Sunway can help me pass at ease with its platinum status,” said Ainul.
Ng Chin Yong bagged the ACCA Malaysia Prize for Taxation, while Carmen Liew won the ACCA Malaysia Prize for Advanced Taxation.
“I believe studying in Sunway TES will provide me with a lot of job opportunities when I graduate.” said Chin Yong.
While Liew shared that this achievement will be one of the most remarkable and unforgettable achievements in her academic journey.
To date, Sunway TES has accumulated 228 World Prize winners and 704 Malaysian Prize winners for the ACCA FIA and ACCA programmes.
Since its incorporation as Sunway College 27 years ago, it has achieved 10 Overall Order of Merit and 32 World Prize winners for the ICAEW programme.
