THE National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) mobile app will make it easier for 3.63 million borrowers and 5.28 million Simpan SSPN depositors nationwide as it integrates all its facilities on one platform.
According to PTPTN chief executive Ahmad Dasuki Abdul Majid, the myPTPTN app was launched in conjunction with the corporation’s silver jubilee recently and it aims to further accelerate the national digitalisation plan, in line with the fifth section of the corporation’s 2021- 2025 Strategic Plan.
With the app, users would be able to perform PTPTN services anytime, anywhere.
“Customers would no longer need to be physically present at the counters, as all they have to do is download the app and this would also save cost and time as they will be able access the PTPTN facilities at any time 24/7.
“Any questions on PTPTN facilities related to payments, savings and loan application can be done via Single Sign On (SSO),” he said in an interview recently.
Ahmad Dasuki said that emphasis is on customer experience and more importantly to ensure the user’s journey (when using the app) is a smooth one without compromising security.
Users have the option to download the app via Google Play Store, App Store and also Huawei AppGallery, whereby they can register and verify their account with their own identity card, email verification and telephone number during registration.
To further amp up safety, electronic identity verification such as transaction authorisation code (TAC) will be used.
Ahmad Dasuki opines that the launch of the mobile app is timely with the public being more technology savvy nowadays.
“myPTPTN is a lifestyle app that will be updated with more value added facilities based on customer wants and needs as well as incorporation of the latest technology.
“(Services performed) with myPTPTN are done more easily, quickly and safely,” he said.
While it shares a similar experience as the website, he said, prior to the myPTPTN app most facilities would need customers to either visit a branch or call its customer service careline whereby they might have to wait for a representative.
“Now with the mobile app it not only saves time but also is immediately available at your fingertips,” he said.
He added that the myPTPTN app is suitable for those aged between 18 and 64 years, whereby customers are able to open their own Simpan SSPN account via the app, check on Simpan SSPN statements and account balance details for Simpan SSPN Plus and Simpan SSPN Prime.
Meanwhile, the app would also allow customers to apply for loan repayment and Simpan SSPN savings deposits through salary deduction, direct debit and auto-debit.
He said those who would want updates on their current loan payment balance can also view on the app as well as download debt settlement letters.
Users will be able to update information like handphone number, email, mailing address, login phrase, and favourite accounts immediately and with push notifications available customers are privy to updates and campaigns instantly and all credited instalments will be notified monthly via the app.
What’s more, he added, for a limited time only borrowers will be privy to two incentives running simultaneously, which is the government’s grant incentive discounts in Budget 2022 and the Klik-Klik Je! Campaign.
The myPTPTN Klik-Klik Je! Campaign offers a chance for 25 users to win prizes worth RM250,000, whereby the winners will be chosen based on their activity on the app by downloading the myPTPTN app, making loan payments, depositing savings into their account and even activating salary deductions or direct debit for loan repayment or Simpan SSPN saving.
To participate, just download the app, activate your account on the app (register and verify your details) and utilise its facilities to be rewarded from now till June 15.
Meanwhile, under the government’s initiative PTPTN borrowers who pay off their loans in full are eligible for a 15% discount on their outstanding balance in the first category.
Those who pay off at least 50% of their remaining debt in a single payment will receive a 12% discount from now till April 30.
On top of that, an added 10% will be awarded to those who subscribe to salary deduction or direct debit options for payments.
