THREE young Malaysians from the Sunway TES Centre for Accountancy Excellence (CAE) Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) were awarded the World Prize. Similarly, 11 prize recipients were placed in the top ten worldwide ranking and first in Malaysia, for various subjects in the recent global rankings for the September 2022 examinations.

Yayasan Peneraju scholar Muhammad Ammar Anwari Shazali scored full 100 marks and placed first Worldwide and Malaysia in the category of ACCA Foundation in Accountancy (ACCA FIA), for the paper Recording Financial Transactions.
Muhammad Ammar aspires to be a certified chartered accountant in the future and through ACCA at Sunway TES, he hopes to join one of the Big Four firms to gain professional experience.
Three Sunway TES prize winners also proudly made it to the number two spot in the ACCA FIA worldwide rankings and first place in Malaysia, with an impressive score of 98 in their respective papers.
They are Charmaine Tan Zi Yin for the paper Maintaining Financial Records, with Ranjita Ramu and Siow Le Xuan for Management Information. Furthermore, Charmaine also scored third worldwide in Managing Costs and Finance.
In addition, for the ACCA category, Nicole Tan Ze Nee and Tan Jia Jin both emerged victorious, being placed first Worldwide and in Malaysia, for Advanced Financial Management and Advanced Audit and Assurance respectively.
For Nicole Tan Ze Nee, who comes from a family of accountants, ranking first Worldwide truly surprised her. Nicole, who scored 86 marks on the Advanced Financial Management paper, shared that while sitting for the ACCA examination is challenging, the experience was worth it with good effort and hard work.
World Prize award recipient Tan Jia Jin, who scored 83 marks for Advanced Audit and Assurance, chose Sunway TES due to its supportive faculty and prestigious status in the ACCA programme.
Jia Jin said: “ACCA seems to be impossible until it is done! It is the perseverance and courage that counts.”
Other ACCA prize winner recipients include Said Ramdan, who placed second worldwide for Financial Management, Lee Xian at third worldwide for Strategic Business Reporting, Chan Wai Teng at fifth for Taxation – Malaysia and Tan Sim Ju, ranking at tenth worldwide for Performance Management.
The globally recognised and prestigious ACCA qualification provides the fastest route to employment in the industry.
