The TARCian Run is back for its seventh edition.

A popular running event jointly organised by TARCian Alumni Association (TAA) and Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT), TARCian Run 2023 will feature a 7km fun run.

It will be held on Sept 16, in conjunction with Malaysia Day, at TAR UMT’s Kuala Lumpur Campus. Participants from its Perak, Johor and Pahang branches will join the run held in KL while those from the Penang and Sabah branches will organise the event on a different date.

TAR UMT Alumni Council chairman and the varsity’s board of governors member Tan Sri Chan Kong Choy said TARCian Run 2023 is targeting 8,000 runners and is open to the public.

“The TARCian Run does not just promote a healthy lifestyle, but also fosters a sense of unity, solidarity and fellowship.

“This is one of the most anticipated events by our TARCian community. We have always received overwhelming support from not just the students, but also from the varsity’s alumni, staff, and their family members.

“Sept 16 is celebrated by all Malaysians. It is in this spirit of unity that we welcome the public from all walks of life to join us in marking Malaysia Day,” Chan said at a press conference on May 31.

The annual event is also aimed at raising funds for TAR UMT. Since 2015, TAA has raised a total of RM300,000, which was channelled to the TARC Education Foundation.

Registration is RM30 (for the first 500 TAR UMT students), RM40 (TAR UMT students and staff), RM50 (alumni and family members) and RM60 (the public).

Runners will stand a chance to win attractive prizes worth more than RM20,000 in a lucky draw event where the grand prize is an iPhone 14 Pro Max.
