New STPM syllabus planned for 2026

SELAYANG: A new Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) syllabus is expected to come into effect in 2026.

Malaysian Examinations Council chairman Prof Datuk Dr Mohd Ekhwan Toriman said the council is in the final stages of fine-tuning the current STPM syllabus.

He said the revision of the syllabus includes its relevance in terms of its aims and objectives, the topics covered, the time allocated for each topic and the assessment scheme for each semester.

"The streamlined syllabus is expected to be implemented from the Semester 1 STPM 2026 examinations" he said when announcing the results analysis today at the council's office.
