ELS English Language Ambassador Award

> Open to Forms Four and Five students in national schools, the 2023 ElS language Centres (ElS) English language ambassador award comprises two components: the Online Writing Course and the Essay Writing Competition.
> The course, spanning from June 6 to aug 30, seeks to enhance students’ writing skills through an online curriculum.
> The culmination of the programme is the competition, which will take place from aug 1 to 30.
> Students who complete the course with an overall grade of at least 70% will qualify to participate in the competition.
> The grand prize is a oneweek study tour to the university of adelaide in australia, complete with return economy class tickets and accommodation for the winner and an accompanying parent or official guardian.
> The first runner-up will receive a cash award of RM1,500, while the second runner-up will be awarded RM750. Cash prizes will be accompanied by trophies, certificates of achievement, co-curricular marks, and one-year subscriptions to “Just English digital Magazine” and “digital English Skills Grammar & Vocabulary”.
> Finalists ranking from 4th to 10th place will also receive trophies, certificates, co-curricular marks, and one-year subscriptions to the digital resources.
> Schools that demonstrate exceptional levels of student participation will be recognised and rewarded. The grand champion’s school, along with the top 20 schools in the Online Writing Course, will receive trophies, certificates of achievement, and one-year subscriptions to the digital resources.
> To participate, students must be nominated by their English language teachers via the digital Educational learning Initiative Malaysia (dElIMa) portal.
> The 2023 ElS English language ambassador award is a corporate social responsibility initiative that aims to support the government’s efforts in driving English language excellence in national schools.
> It is run by the ElS, in collaboration with partners which include the university of adelaide, universiti Putra Malaysia, universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Sunago Education, and Just English.
