Generating a skilled workforce is paramount to the country’s aspiration of achieving developed nation status, and technical and vocational education and training (TVET) serves as a cornerstone in this endeavour, read a Management and Science University (MSU) statement dated Sept 21.
The varsity was recently honoured with the Malaysia’s Best University (TVET Education) Award during the Malaysia Education & TVET Awards (META) 2023 ceremony at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
Presented by the “Education + TVET Asia” publication, the second edition of the META is conferred by the industry on exceptional and noteworthy organisations and enterprises.
Being recognised as the recipient of Malaysia’s Best University (TVET Education) award highlights the varsity’s commitment as a leading higher education institution at the forefront of TVET-based education in Malaysia and the global arena, the statement read.
The implementation of various innovative strategies, with a dedicated focus on integrating TVET elements throughout the varsity’s academic programmes, has significantly reinforced this vision, it added.
MSU president Prof Tan Sri Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid said the varsity is unwavering in its dedication to fostering employability through high-quality education.
“This award recognises our efforts to ensure academic excellence and industry collaboration to further encourage the bridging of skills and competencies.
“This achievement further underscores the United Kingdom-based Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges and Universities (ASIC) we received,” he said, adding that MSU was lauded as a Global TVET Model University with Outstanding Leadership in International TVET Education in 2018.
