Sunway students continue to soar in ACCA papers

Malaysian students have again achieved global recognition in the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and ACCA Foundation in Accountancy (FIA) September 2023 examination sitting.

Sunway TES Centre for Accountancy Excellence (CAE) students Nicole Teng Lei See secured the second place among ACCA Affiliates in Malaysia and holds the 11th rank worldwide, while Ling Yoke Qi achieved the third position in Malaysia and is globally ranked 16th.

Two ACCA students were awarded first place in Malaysia and second worldwide – Sheryn Pek Yi Xuen for Audit and Assurance, and Lim Hui Ning for Advanced Audit and Assurance.

“The lecturers are highly professional, dedicated and supportive. They always provide valuable feedback that helps me improve. They have played an essential role to guide and motivate me in reaching my achievements,” Lim said in a press release dated Nov 15.

Other first-place winners from CAE are Koh Yik Pin for Financial Management; Nicole Toh Shern Yi for Taxation; Yong Le Yi for Strategic Business Leader; Chau Song Jie for Strategic Business Reporting; and Saw Jie Khai for Advanced Performance Management.

In the ACCA FIA, Ooi Kai Xin achieved first place both in Malaysia and globally for Management Information.

“I would definitely recommend the programme to those who are interested in studying ACCA because it provides a conducive studying environment and the opportunity to learn from quality lecturers,” said Ooi.

Manraj Singh Khurana and Izwan Hatim were a joint first place in Malaysia and third place worldwide for Managing Costs and Finance.

Academics was just one facet of the equation. A well-balanced college experience was crucial for Izwan, who said the campus facilities helped foster his success.

“The Tun Hussein Onn library is a good place to study, discuss projects, and seek study resources.

“Sports facilities, such as a FIFA-certified field and a multipurpose hall, help one to achieve a balanced college life in studies and sports,” Izwan added.
