Unlocking global teaching opportunities

Taylor’s University has entered into an exclusive partnership with the renowned TES Institute to offer an “assessment only” route to the International Qualified Teaching Status (iQTS) programme.

This makes it the only institution in Malaysia to partner with the leading British education provider for this certification.

Designed to elevate the skills and credentials of educators both locally and internationally, this initiative reflects Taylor’s University’s commitment to advancing educational excellence and supporting teachers in their professional growth.

The programme is open to members of the Taylor’s community – alumni, current students, as well as Taylor’s Schools teaching staff – who must fulfil the requirements of having a bachelor’s degree and at least two years of experience in an English curriculum.

Through this qualification at Taylor’s University, candidates can obtain their iQTS in just three months, positioning themselves for fulfilling teaching opportunities worldwide.

This British-recognised certification is particularly advantageous for those seeking teaching careers in the United Kingdom and globally, offering a significant edge in these competitive markets.

“We believe in nurturing talent and benchmarking excellence in education at a global standard.

“This partnership with TES Institute not only enhances the professional qualifications of our educators but also opens doors to global teaching opportunities.

“Our collaboration with TES Institute underscores our dedication to providing world-class educational resources and support to our community,” said Taylor’s University School of Education head Dr Logendra Stanley Ponniah in a press release dated Oct 17.

Awarded by the UK’s Department for Education, iQTS is a prestigious professional qualification required for teaching in the UK and internationally.

The “assessment only” route to iQTS can be completed in 12 weeks, during which teachers are required to provide a portfolio with evidence of good practice to show they meet the required teaching standards.
