THE newly established Allianz Centre for Governance (ACFG) marks a strategic three-year collaboration between Allianz Malaysia Berhad and Universiti Malaya (UM) to advance research on governance and related areas.

Launched on Dec 10 in conjunction with International Anti-Corruption Day, the ACFG is located at the varsity’s Faculty of Business and Economics.

It will serve as a platform for academic research and public engagement, with a focus on strengthening business integrity and supporting reforms in governance practices.

UM deputy vice-chancellor (Academic and International) Prof Dr Yatimah Alias said the ACFG would accelerate efforts to enhance the quality of governance and ensure continued transparency.

Allianz Malaysia chief executive officer Sean Wang added that research-driven solutions, informed by data and expert analysis, are far more likely to lead to effective anti-corruption measures than reactive policies based on political pressure or popular sentiment.
