Bring it on, 2025!

Gloria: I am excited about the new adventures, opportunities and lessons ahead.

WITH 2025 now upon us, I am filled with mixed emotions.

In July, I will graduate after three years of pursuing English Language and Literature.

The thought of leaving student life behind feels overwhelming at times.

What will it be like to no longer be a student? How will I navigate this new chapter?

These questions linger but I am choosing to face the future with excitement and curiosity rather than fear, drawing on the strength and resilience I built in 2024.

The past year was as challenging as it was rewarding, filled with ups and downs, moments that demanded resilience and lessons I never expected.

I am grateful to God for guiding me through the storms. His presence has been my strength and comfort during tough times.

However, 2024 was not just about challenges; it also brought victories and blessings.

One of the highlights was starting my final year of university. The whirlwind of emotions – excitement for what’s to come, nostalgia for the years gone by, and nervousness about the future – has made me appreciate the friendships and experiences that have shaped my journey.

Another incredible moment was seeing two of my articles published in The Star through the BRATs Young Journalist Programme. It was a dream I had held close for so long, and when it happened, it felt like a pinch-me moment.

Knowing my words reached a wider audience was deeply rewarding and encouraged me to keep pursuing my passions.

2024 also had its smaller victories. One of the most memorable was purchasing a laptop I had dreamt about for years. It was not just a material possession, but a symbol of hard work and determination. Every time I see it, I am reminded of what is possible when you set your mind to something.

Through it all, my family and friends, along with my faith, have been my rock, offering support and encouragement.

They reminded me that I am never alone. I am grateful for having such an incredible support system.

So, 2025, bring it on! I am excited about the new adventures, opportunities and lessons ahead. I am especially determined to make the most of these last few months as a student.

As you reflect on your own 2024, I hope you find moments to celebrate and lessons to carry forward. Here’s to a beautiful 2025!
