Ensure equal number of voters in each constituency


The Election Commission needs to address the significant difference in the number of voters among constituencies if the country wants to attain maturity in politics. – ZULAZHAR SHEBLEE/ THE STAR

THE inequality in the number of voters between constituencies, either at the Parliament or state assembly (DUN) level, will reduce the power of young voters, including the newly registered ones.

Political scientist from the Jeffrey Sachs Center on Sustainable Development at Sunway University Prof Dr Wong Chin Huat says the significant difference in the number of voters among constituencies is a big issue that needs to be addressed if the country wants to attain maturity in politics.
