THE US$14.92bil (RM62bil) Malaysia allegedly has to pay some “Sulu heirs” for terminating Sabah’s annual cession payments may yet see political repercussions.

Although Spanish arbitrator Gonzalo Stampa’s award is illegitimate, the waves it has created may ride on the Philippine presidential campaign currently underway and revive Sulu’s fraudulent claim on Sabah.
