Big question: Will the Undi18 voters bring about meaningful change to the country's political arena in the future? – AZHAR MAHFOF/The Star

WITH only limited data from the recently concluded Johor elections at hand to go by, preliminary observations have shown that Undi18 failed to create a pronounced impact on the result of the Johor polls, say political analysts.

However, this does not necessarily mean that the Undi18 legislation will not bring about meaningful change to the political arena in the future. The Johor polls, being a state election carried out during the peak of the Omicron wave and very soon after the implementation of Undi18, may not reflect the full potential impact set in motion by the constitutional amendment.
