A timely tribute

Legal eagle: Renowned senior lawyer Chooi with his memoir, 'Malaysia My Home: Quo Vadis'. — RAJA FAISAL HISHAN/The Star

IN his memoir Malaysia My Home, senior lawyer Chooi Mun Sou pens a tribute to his beloved country, although in the title, he also asks Quo Vadis, Latin for “Where are you going?”

Dovetailing his life experiences with the country’s history, identity and economic and political journey, the 84-year-old recounts his colourful life starting from his childhood recollections of Malaya, his voyage by sea to read law in London, then coming home to a young, independent country where he contributed towards nation- building.
